Almost every major cause in America leverages both nonprofit support and political activity to be successful. That’s because it takes both types of activity to make the structural, lasting change that can change lives for generations.
While non-profit 501(c)3 organizations investigate, educate, and build movements, it takes 501(c)4 organizations to lobby for legislation and take political action. Unfortunately, advocates fighting for crucial change and program expansion in early childhood are missing half the equation. |
When even the savviest state advocates aren’t getting the results they are fighting for, it’s because they are missing the “two” in the one-two punch. The lack of well-resourced, savvy funding for political activity costs our children and their communities. Big time.

If we believe in a strong start for all children, it’s time we add political action to early-childhood advocacy.
