Equity is at the core of Impact Fellows’ mission

Kids born with access to robust support start out on the path to success. Others, mostly children and families of color living in poor neighborhoods, do not. As the activist Ibram X. Kendi says, division and racism are not about individuals; therefore “the goal is to identify the policies that create and maintain inequalities, and correct them.”

We start with children and families most at risk for poor outcomes, and then build toward universal policies and full funding. We believe effective early childhood advocacy relies heavily on the power of parents, providers, teachers and grassroots leaders to band together in order to fight for the policies and funding for their children, families and communities. When they unite and work together, policymakers see their power and listen.

We believe: IF we act now, all children can succeed in a more just, equitable country.
